陶淵明，名潛，字元亮，號五柳先生，世稱靖節先生，東晉著名的田園詩人。代表作有《飲酒》、《歸園田居》、《歸去來兮辭》

本文寫于東晉末年，其時政治非常黑暗，封建剝削壓迫十分殘酷，加上連年內戰，給人民帶來極大的災難。

東晉年間，一個武陵的漁人偶然發現桃花源。那里環境優美，人們生活安寧，他做客幾日便離開，像再次尋求這世外桃源，卻再也找不到了。
